About FoodWIse
How FoodWIse Can Help
FoodWIse teaches people ways to:
- Purchase and prepare healthy, affordable meals and snacks.
- Balance food intake and physical activity.
- Keep food safe to eat.
- Develop a spending and savings plan to become more food secure.
How it works
FoodWIse forms community partnerships to deliver on-site education at locations that are convenient for participants. Nutrition educators teach hands-on lessons that feature activities, games, cooking and food prep, and taste tests featuring healthy, affordable foods. Educators work with small or large groups at local schools and a variety of other community sites. Programs are available in English and Spanish.
Who Can Participate
FoodWIse programs are free to groups where the majority of participants meet income guidelines, including those eligible for: Wisconsin QUEST Card (Food Stamps/FoodShare), WIC, Wisconsin Works (W2), Free/Reduced Price School Lunch, Head Start, SSI or SSDI
