Overview of Available Programs In Waukesha County

StrongBodies

StrongBodies is an evidence-based strength training program for adults of all ages. Strength training classes increase strength, energy, bone density, and muscle mass and reduce the risk of chronic diseases. StrongBodies classes help us stay independent as we age and socially connected in our communities.

WeCOPE

WeCOPE is a 6 to 7-week evidence-based program that helps adults cope with life stress. Based on the work of Dr. Judith Moskowitz, the program has been shown to reduce stress and depression, increase positive affect, and improve health behaviors among adults.

Dimensions of Wellness

The 8 Ways to Wellness session(s) are interactive presentations that explore SAMHSA’s (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) 8 Dimensions of Wellness. Wellness is categorized into serval interconnected dimensions and this series can provide strategies and resource to create balance in each.

Youth Advocates for Community Health

The Youth Advocates for Community Health process creates youth-adult partnerships that allows youth to lead and generate energy among their peers (and adults) to improve the health in their community in ways that matter to them.

Healthy Schools and Early Care

Extension educators work with alongside schools to share resources, offer education, and provide programming for staff and students related to health and wellness. We partner with school professionals as they conduct assessments, create action plans, implement best practice strategies, and evaluate efforts to enhance health and equity within school environments.

Farm to School

Farm to School (F2S) is a movement that encourages a healthy lifestyle in children and promotes supporting local economies through the use of locally- and regionally-grown foods in schools. F2S activities can include nutrition education in classrooms, farmer visits, and school gardens.

Extension Waukesha County is located in the Administration Center of the Waukesha County Courthouse Complex. Enter through the main Courthouse doors. After going through security, take the corridor on the left to the the Administration Center. Take the elevators or stairs to the ground floor and go to room G22.
