Waukesha County 4-H Rocket Launch

4-H youth ages 9-19 who have a finished and fully completed rocket for launch are invited to the Waukesha County Rocket Launch at Fox River Church in Waukesha (S46 W24130 Lawnsdale Rd.).

This is not a drop off event—a parent, grandparent or adult guardian must be present with youth to participate! There is a $5 launch fee for this event to offset the costs of materials & supplies to host this event.

Reminder: you must be fully enrolled to sign up & participate and have a finished and fully completed rocket for launch.

Once we have the final details, you will receive an email after you are registered and by May 7th to finalize weather-related adjustments. Reminder, the rain date is Sunday, May 10th (Mother’s Day) from 3-6pm.

ALL FAMILIES MUST PURCHASE THE ENGINE THAT WORKS FOR THEIR MODEL!

For rocket sizes, this is what matches the kit:

• 3 DIFFERENT PROJECTED ALTITUDES. These fun model rockets have the following projected altitudes when used with a C6-7 Estes model-rocket engine (sold separately): Alpha: 1,000 ft. (305 m); Viking: 1,600 ft. (488 m)
• Compatible engines also include 1/2A6-2, A8-3, A8-5, B4-4, B6-4, B6-6, or C6-5 rocket engines.

Families should also plan to bring: lawn chairs, blankets, snacks, beverages, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray, anything to enjoy a May evening outside watching your kids launch rockets!
