4-H Project Nights are designed to provide opportunities for 4-H youth to explore their “sparks” (interests). They are held multiple times each fall and spring. Sessions are available for K-13th grade, and all approved 4-H members and their parents/guardians/favorite adults (no drop-offs for this event) are invited to Project Nights.
During Project Nights, several sessions with a variety of topics happen concurrently during two sessions, and youth choose where to participate. There is no cost to attend Project Nights, except when noted for individual projects. (We do not want a project’s cost to prevent any interested youth from participating—if you would like to inquire about financial assistance, contact Sara.)

Reminders: You must an approved 4-H member to attend Project Nights, and you must sign up to indicate the sessions you’ll be attending. Parent support may be needed for any session, and it is mandatory when listed.
October 28th Project Night Sessions
Arts & Crafts Pumpkins
Learn to craft with yarn and make decorative pumpkins perfect for a table decoration or festive holiday display. Ages: All ages, but Cloverbuds (K-2nd grade) may need adult support.
Food & Nutrition (limit 15 youth per session)
Learn to make charcuterie boards! Session 1: Learn about cheeses and fruits used in charcuterie. Session 2: Learn about meats and crackers & make a meat flower. Ages: All ages, but Cloverbuds (K-2nd grade) must have adult support.
Learn to Sew: Make a Love Bug
Learn how to make a stuffed Love Bug and contribute to the Waukesha County 4-H countywide community service project. Participants must bring their own material, sewing machine, scissors, etc. Ages: Ages 8+ with experience sewing
Photography
Work with photographer Troy from Mike Crivello’s Cameras to learn and practice skills and then directly apply them in a live photography session. Ages: Session 1 – K-4th grade (may need adult support), Session 2 – 5th grade+
STEM
Session 1: Make Halloween-themed density tubes by stacking colorful liquids of different densities. Ages: All ages, youth may need adult support.
Session 2: Learn about buoyancy, density, and other physics concepts with a Halloween-themed Cartesian diver experiment. Ages: 12+
Theater Arts
Session 1: Bring Puppets to Life – Anything can be a puppet! Work with Mosaic Creative Studios to breathe life into objects and see a character come to life through puppetry. Ages: All ages
Session 2: Creative Characters with Costumes – They say “clothes make the man,” and in this class, you will explore how a prop or costume piece can help create a full character. Ages: All ages
Woodworking (Session 2 only)
Build wooden toolboxes during this month’s woodworking session. Ages: All ages, but ALL youth must have adult support. This project has a cost of $6 per youth to cover materials—please bring cash or check to Project Night.
