About the Waukesha County Rental Gardens
The Gardens are located just east of the intersection of Northview Road and Grandview Boulevard in the city of Waukesha. Rental plots are available to Waukesha County residents on a year-to-year basis. The Gardens are open from the third Saturday of May (weather depending) through 9 a.m. on the third Monday of October. The “permanent” gardeners may continue gardening into the fall.

The Gardens do not have an address, but share a driveway with the Waukesha County Huber Facility. The Gardens are located to the West of the Huber Facility. The Huber Facility is located on Northview Road between Grandview Boulevard and Pewaukee Road at 1400 Northview Road, Waukesha, WI 53188.
Garden Plot Map
The Gardens have 94 rental plots divided into two sections, regular and organic. The regular section of the garden has 36 plots that are plowed annually and 44 plots that are not plowed and referred to as permanent on the map above. The organic section has 14 plots, three of which do not get plowed annually which are permanent.
Permanent dos not reflect ownership, it indicates that the location of the plots are permanent in that they are not plowed annually. Perennial crops in these plots can remain over the winter.
History of the Rental Gardens
Since 1994 Extension Waukesha County has managed the Waukesha County Rental Gardens. Initially designed to meet the needs of those who want to garden but don’t have the space or sun in their yard, this rental garden has blossomed into a project that yields not only fresh produce but fellowship, fun, and gardening skill development.

Extension Waukesha County is located in the Administration Center of the Waukesha County Courthouse Complex. Enter through the main Courthouse doors. After going through security, take the corridor on the left to the the Administration Center. Take the elevators or stairs to the ground floor and go to room G22.
